The information that was collected to support my evaluation came from 2 online articles about patience. Included what Steven Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, has observed while in his career. Mr. Ballmer's section of the article was very persuasive on what it takes to be a successful businees man. Included in the article was also a personal reflection given by Dr. Charles C. Manz. Dr. Manz conclusion of his weekness patience, he expressed the need to develop and grow this strength.
Which suggested tasks from Writing Arguments did I find most useful and why?
Freewriting: I have used this so many times in the past to just jot down ideas and thoughts to be able to review later.
Idea mapping: This works well give you news ideas and thoughts about how to share supporting evidence.
Which genre of argument would you most likely write on your own? Why?
Freewriting would have to be the one I use the most and favor. This can be a great process to flow through your thought and ideas. Once finished review and decide what is most important and supports the essay.
Did you ask anyone else to make recommendations about your revising process? Why or why not?
Yes, I have asked a person that I know who has a B.A. in English. She really enjoys writing and seems to understand and appreciate it more than I have in the past.
What is the goal of argument?
To share information with the reader. This can give a reader a different perspective on an issue. It is very important to have evidence that supports this process.
How did previewing sections of a book (rather than simply reading them) help you to understand the material? (If you are not practicing previewing the written material it will show in your work.)
Preview always helps me to get an idea of what is expected of me and what to keep in mind while reading through the information. I often take notes while reading to keep on track of what is needed.
